Convergent versus Divergent Paradigms

The WEB is a new media, it is in its early evolution, still in paradigmatic flux. In this flux convergent paradigms complete with divergent paradigms, other paradigms converge fusing into new paradigms.

By convergent paradigms I mean the repurposing of the paradigms of the older media; a WEB site using repurposed paradigms, converges with the older media. Whereas a divergent paradigm, pulls away from the older media, forging a distinct identity for the WEB. Communications history teaches us that if a paradigm is sufficiently divergent, it will profoundly impact the very structure of society itself. Truly we live in interesting times.
